Ghost Town is the latest studio album by German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell, officially released on March 20, 2026 by Steamhammer/SPV. It is his 23rd studio album (some sources mention slightly different counts depending on the inclusion of live/compilation tracks, but it's generally agreed that this is his most recent work of original material).

The album maintains the classic essence that Pell's fans have loved for decades: melodic hard rock with a strong neoclassical influence in the guitars, powerful riffs, long and melodic solos full of feeling, epic structures, and a clean and powerful production. Axel produced the album himself (with Tommy Newton handling mixing/mastering in several cases), and the result is a very consistent work within the style he has perfected since the 90s/2000s.

Title track "Ghost Town" — lead single, with lyric video released in December 2025. It has a dark and cinematic feel, with a striking riff and catchy chorus.

"Breaking Seals" (feat. Udo Dirkschneider) — probably the heaviest and most anticipated moment of the album, featuring the iconic voice of the former Accept/U.D.O. member in a track with old-school heavy metal energy. Instrumental opening "The Regicide (Intro)" — short but atmospheric, setting the stage for the darker mood that permeates several tracks. Themes such as "Guillotine Walk", "Hurricane", "The Enemy Within" and "Holy Water" showcase the typical mix of powerful mid-tempo with emotional ballads and faster moments.

The album is approximately 55 minutes long (standard for his recent work), with compositions ranging from 4 to 6 minutes in most cases, allowing space for the famous extended and melodic guitar solos that are Pell's signature.

Early reviews and comments (from sites like KNAC, Blabbermouth, and European portals) describe Ghost Town as "another solid chapter in Axel's career"—not revolutionary, but extremely well-executed, with great vocals from Johnny Gioeli, solid bass and drums (Bobby Rondinelli on drums in several recent works), and especially the guitar solos, which continue to be the highlight. The overall mood has a darker/epic touch in several tracks (guillotine, broken seals, ghost town), but without abandoning the melodic and accessible side that makes his sound so beloved in European hard rock.
